We’re slowly (very slowly) getting back to normalcy, one of the staples of the nicer weather in Saratoga is opening up this weekend.
The Saratoga Farmers’ Market is the area’s longest running farmers’ market and will open for its 42nd season tomorrow (Saturday, May 2nd). The Schenectady Greenmarket already opened and was successful through the social distancing process.
According to the Saratogian, there will be some new adjustments (as to be expected) giving the protocols. The market, which used to be at the Lincoln Baths, can now be found outside of Wilton Mall. The mall itself is still closed but farmer’s markets were deemed as essential.
If you go to the market this weekend, you can expect 10 feet between each stall, more sanitizing and of course, wearing masks. The market, held from 9:00 AM. to 1:00 PM, will have 65 vendors selling “fresh produce, dairy products, eggs, meats, flowers, prepared foods and more.”
Now, customers will also have the option to pre-order their groceries for pick-up online. This way you can support your local vendors but don’t even have to get out of your car. For more information and updates on the market, check out their website.
