Another local favorite has been canceled because of the coronavirus- the Saratoga County Fair.
The Saratoga County Fair announced via Twitter that after careful consideration, they have decided to not hold the fair this year for the first time since the Civil War.
This year would have been the 179th of the fair’s history. It was scheduled for July 21 – 26, 2020. The only other time they’ve had to cancel the fair was during the Civil War back in 1841. They continued to say, “While the Fair’s mission is to provide an annual educational experience in agriculture to the diverse population of our region, the health and safety of our our patrons, volunteers, and surrounding communities are a top priority.”
The fair will resume again July 20-25, 2021.
Based on careful consideration, the Board of Directors has made the extremely difficult decision to cancel the 179th Saratoga County Fair scheduled for July 21 – 26, 2020. Since 1841 we have only canceled the Fair once, during the Civil War.
