Just because we’re all staying home, doesn’t mean that days aren’t passing and that people aren’t having birthdays. Rotterdam residents wanted to make sure a local man didn’t miss celebrating his.

Rotterdam’s 95-year-old Fred Muscanell served as a WWII veteran who served on D-Day. On Wednesday, his family didn’t want him to miss his birthday so they planned a birthday parade for him and the video from CBS 6 went viral.

According to the station, “Fred was a member of the 518th Port Battalion and he loaded equipment and supplies for soldiers there.” He’s also lived in Schenectady his whole life, even working there at GE. So happy to see that this sweet man got the birthday attention he deserved. Here’s to many more!
