Schenectady miSci Announces Upcoming Harry Potter Event
miSci continues to find ways to keep us interested in science and now, they’re turning to my love Harry Potter to keep me coming back!
Some of my favorite events at miSci are those in the “After Dark” series. If you’ve never been and equate miSci with children and your childhood, think again.
The “After Dark” series is designed for adults, usually, 21+, to give us a chance to enjoy the museum like kids but without having to worry about hogging all of the exhibits.
The next “After Dark” event they announced will be “Butterflies and Brews.” It’s a take on their on-going butterfly house exhibit but instead, this is for adults and involves beer. A ton of local breweries come into the museum so you can taste what they have to offer and experience the beauty that is the butterfly house. That’s on April 3rd from 6:00pm-9:00pm.
The next event that already has people excited is “Spellbinding Science” on June 12th from 6:00pm-9:00pm. This is the “After Dark” version of their upcoming all-ages exhibit “The Science and Wizardry of Harry Potter” on March 14th. According to the website, “As each participant enters miSci, they will receive a Marauder’s Map. This document will act as a guide to showcase all the magical experiences that are available.” No word on the specifics of the “After Dark” event, but it’s not too early to put it on your calendar.
The other “After Dark” event they’ve been advertising is called “Clue (Murder Mystery).” I haven’t seen it advertised on their website yet but according to a poster inside the museum, it will be on September 11th from 6:00pm-9:00pm. I’ve already added all of these to my calendar so hopefully, I’ll see ya there!
