Garnet Hill Lodge in North River looks like the winter getaway that you see people take in movies. Garnet Hill Lodge is open all four seasons but is especially active during the winter months, according to Only In Your State.
The Log House Restaurant inside of Garnet Hill is full of rustic Adirondack-style decor and a beautiful fireplace to keep you warm. From the restaurant, you have a fantastic view of the Adirondacks and the 13th lake. In regards to food and drink, they mention, “We serve a variety of beer, mixed drinks, and a selection of high-quality wines and feature locally brewed beer, wine and liquor.” Taking a look at the dinner menu, they offer delicious but reasonably priced dishes like Duck Poutine ($14), Venison Chili ($12), Classic Cheeseburgers ($16), Vegetable Paella ($19), Blackened Swordfish ($28), and so much more.
Looking to spend the night? They offer rooms in the main building and two cottages. Each stay includes breakfast and complete use of the resort. In the warmer months, that includes a beach, hiking trails, bicycles, and kayaks. In the winter, snowshoe and cross-country ski passes. You can also add a local excursion to your stay like whitewater rafting or Gore Mountain lift tickets, for example.
