Ladies and Gentlemen, sports betting is legal in New York State and Rivers Casino in Schenectady hasn’t wasted any time. Rivers Sportsbook is officially open!

This morning, Rivers Casino cut the ribbon on Rivers Sportsbook Lounge becoming the first gaming operator in New York State to take legal sports bets. I announced the plans for the sports book about two months ago and in quick time, it’s finally opened.

The new Rivers Sportsbook takes up 5000 square feet of the space. Club chairs and table seating are available for 80 guests with 5 private booths. There are also 18 VIP seats and 32 tabletop seats. There is a 53′ x 9′ video wall with 22 addition monitors. They will offer betting on professional football, basketball, baseball, hockey, soccer, college sports, and more!

After this morning, the first official sports wager in NYS has been made. The Rivers Sportsbook Lounge is open Monday-Thursday 10:00am-12:00am, Friday 10:00am-1:00am, Saturday 9:00am-1:00am, and Sunday 9:00am-12:00am.
