Dan Rather Coming to UAlbany to Speak

There are a few names that are synonymous with broadcasting, Dan Rather is one of those people and you can watch him speak at Albany later this year.

University at Albany just announced that Dan Rather will be coming to headline their Speaker Series on September 6th.

The event is free and open to the Albany community but tickets are still necessary and will be available later the summer. Rather will be speaking at the SEFCU Arena on September 6th at 7:30pm. During this event, he will discuss his new book, “What Unites Us: Reflections on Patriotism.”

Dan Rather is the former anchor and managing editor for the “CBS Evening News,” well known for his contributions to the show “60 Minutes,” and has been a part of CBS for 44 years, until 2006. Rather was also the first newsperson to report on the assassination of President John F. Kennedy which later made him the White House Correspondent.

Rather is still very active on Twitter and contributes segments to Sirius-XM and various podcasts.
