Another restaurant has announced that they’re closing in Downtown Albany.

After eight years on New Scotland Ave in Albany, Capital City Gastropub has announced that they closed on Sunday.

The Times Union reported Sunday’s closing saying that the current owners, who have owned it for six years, announced the closure on Facebook. An exact reason wasn’t given, instead, they said “This decision wasn’t an easy one and was made with a heavy heart. We would like to thank all of you for the support and patronage.”

Capital City Gastropub was known for being a pub-like space with high-scale food options. I only had the chance to go once, but I remember the food being on another level. No word yet on the building being for sale or what may take its place but this is definitely a hole in Albany that will be hard to fill.
