Poke bowls are popping up all over the Capital Region and there’s a new place in Albany that does it right! Plus, you have a chance to try it for yourself with a giveaway!
I recently had the chance to check out what Okipoki had to offer in Downtown Albany (41 State Street). First and foremost, the parking situation is fantastic. I hate parking, especially in Albany, and we got a spot right out front.
Okipoki just opened at the end of February and it’s already making a name for itself. They don’t just offer poke bowls, they also have maki rolls, hibachi, and sushi burritos.
I had the chance to try the poke bowl and sushi burrito. My poke bowl was rice with tuna, mango, carrots, avocado, and edamame. You can build your own or pick one off of the menu. Same goes for the burrito, but I decided to go with the Tri-Color Burrito featuring tuna, salmon, and white tuna.
As I’m sure you can see in the pictures, everything here is at the utmost freshness. Everything tasted amazing and if you work Downtown, once you go here for your lunch break, you’re not going to go anywhere else. It honestly tasted like the fish was just fished out of the water and prepared for you – no extra fishy flavor. Also, for the quality of ingredients they’re using, the prices are also very reasonable.
If you’re interested in trying it for yourself, head over to my Instagram account Monday, April 1st for your chance to win a free poke bowl or sushi burrito of your very own!
