Aperitivo Bistro in Schenectady, Closed

After 10 years, the restaurant has served their final dish.

/edit Aperitivo’s location was taken over by Grano.

After what I can imagine to be a rather successful Schenectady Restaurant Week, Aperitivo Bistro has announced on their Facebook that yesterday (Saturday, March 9) was their last day.

There were rumblings around Schenectady that the restaurant wasn’t doing as well as expected. They participated in Downtown Schenectady events any way in hopes of boosting the restaurant back up, most recently the Schenectady Soup Stroll and Restaurant Week. It was once owned by Mazzone Hospitality and though I’m unclear with their affiliation at the end, Matt Mazzone was still involved in the workings of the restaurant up until recently.

According to their post on Facebook, they have been trying to keep the restaurant going but the decision was “unexpected” and beyond control. There isn’t much more information on what’s happening except that if you had gift cards, scheduled events, or reservations, they will soon be updating with the news.

UPDATE 3/14: Aperitivo posted on their Facebook an update in regards to gift certificates.
