Lake George Offering First Vacation Retreat for Sick Kids [VIDEO]

I love to see that somewhere in the Capital Region is not only the first in the nation to do something, but especially when it’s something this amazing!

You may familiar with the light-blue two-story house in the middle of Lake George village but didn’t realize what it was. Soon, WNYT announced that it will soon be a house to support seriously ill children and their families thanks to the Ronald McDonald House.

The Ronald McDonald House will be calling it the Krantz Cottage after the family that sold it to them for much less than its market value. It needs a few renovations but will eventually be a four-bedroom home, close to the beach, for kids and families who need a break from treatment or for those who treatment will no longer work.

Jeff Yule, executive director of Ronald McDonald Charities of the Capital Region, said that they still need $300,000 for the renovations so they’re asking for help from the area. If you would like to get involved, you are invited to an organizational meeting February 13 at the Holiday Inn in Lake George.
