Man Aims to Break the ADK 46 High Peak Record for Wife

I’m impressed by anyone who can climb all 46 of the Adirondack High Peaks but the time this man is intending to beat is insane!

The current record for climbing the 46 Adirondack High Peaks is 3 days, 17 hours, and 14 minutes by Jan Wellford in 2008, according to New York Upstate. That alone is incredible, but now Adam Valastro is looking to beat it, and for a great reason.

In December, Valastro and his wife Brianna learned that Brianna was diagnosed with Lyme Disease and that’s when they realized they didn’t know much about it. Valastro’s hope through his Facebook page “Quest 46” is to bring awareness to the disease while people follow his journey. In order to complete the challenge, Valastro must reach the peak of each of the 46 before Wellford’s time. He’s planning on conquering the challenge in August of this year.

New York Upstate is reporting: “With Wellford’s help, he said he’s come up with a game plan for a “supported hike,” where he gets transported to and from trailheads and help with supply (food, water) drops.”

If interested, Valastro has set up a GoFundMe page.
