Food Challenges in the 518: Can You Finish It All?

You’ve probably watched the show “Man Vs. Food” on The Food Network, but did you realize we have two places here to give you a run for your money? Could you finish them?

If you’re the type of person who eats one serving out and wishes there was more food in front of you, I have two local restaurants you need to give a try. Only in Your State broke down 8 restaurants in the New York where your meal is free if you complete the food challenge and two of them are found right here in the 518.

First, you can head over to Mechanicville for The Ugly Rooster and their Colossal Pancake Challenge. The rules are that you have to finish their 2 twelve-inch pancakes and one pound of fruit and scoops of butter/whipped cream in 20 minutes. If you do, you earn yourself a t-shirt, your picture on the hall of fame, and you earn the meal for free!

The second place to try is in Rotterdam at The Wagon Train BBQ and this meal is a little heartier. In 30 minutes, you must finish the Graveyard Burger. The Graveyard Burger is, according to their website, “1lb Black Angus Burger 4 slices of American cheese 2 fried eggs 6 slices of bacon 8oz pulled pork 8oz beef brisket 8oz cole slaw 8oz Mac n Cheese Onion Tanglers Jalepeno Bottle Caps with Onion Ring and French Fries on a Ginormous Fresh Baked Roll. 5.5 lbs Total Weight – $44.95.” If you finish, you earn a t-shirt, the meal for free, as well as a parking spot outside for the entire month.
