I’ve mentioned a few times that The Voice contestant Delaney Silvernell, from Queensbury, made it through the auditions and was on to the Battle Rounds. Well, she performed Monday night and what happened is something you’d never expect!
If you’re not up to date on Delaney Silvernell, a few weeks ago she auditioned for The Voice and the only judge to turn around was Kelly Clarkson so instantly she was on Team Kelly. A few weeks passed, Silvernell came back to Queensbury to visit her hometown (she currently lives in Los Angeles) and then her Battle Round performance aired on Monday. If you’re unfamiliar with The Voice, Battle Rounds pits two people from the same team against each other and they sing the same song on the same stage. After the performance is when the coach (in this case Kelly Clarkson) decides which she’d like to keep on her team.
Silvernell went up against fellow Team Kelly performer Abby Cates singing “Love Me Like You Do” by Ellie Goulding. After some discussion with her fellow judges, Clarkson decided to choose Cates for her team, knocking Silvernell off of the show – or so we thought. That’s when Silvernell was up for grabs as a steal and before host Carson Daly even finished the question, Adam Levine hit his button and stole her for Team Adam. I’m so happy to see Silvernell still on the show and can’t wait to see what Adam’s coaching does for her performances! Watch the performance below, which would you have picked for your team?
