Olde Saratoga Brewing Co. May Already Have New Owners
After the announcement about nine months ago that Olde Saratoga Brewing Co. was for sale, they could already have new owners.
Manhattan-based 212 Brewing showed interest and were the highest bidder at an August auction of “Excelsior Avenue brewery’s assets,” according to The Daily Gazette. Now that Olde Saratoga Brewing Co. closed because their owner had some financial issues, 212 Brewing is looking at that spot to expand.
Don Trooien, the founder of 212 Brewing Co, said that he sees a lot of potential for the brewery, looking to not only expand the tasting room but to become a community attraction with a new event space. He actually has experience in the space already having contracted with Olde Saratoga to be the main brewer about three years ago.
What’s exciting about this move is that they’re not just looking to open another location, they’re looking to take their entire operation from Cazenovia and move it here. Olde Saratoga Brewing Co used to be one of the top 10 breweries in New York State, add the quality of water, and it seems like a great move. Stewart’s Shops, that owns the property, has said though that they have yet to receive an official offer.
