New Way to Protect Pets at Rest Stops Introduced
You may have been in this situation before: you’re traveling with your pet and you have to go to the bathroom. Sure, you could leave your pet in the car with the windows down a little bit but it still gets so hot in there. Now, there’s something that can help!
DogSpot is a new addition to a bunch of rest stops on the Thruway, CBS6 reports. Instead of tying your pet outside or leaving them in a hot car, you can stop at a rest stop knowing that your pet is safe and comfortable.
One of the closer examples is at the New Baltimore rest stop. The way it works is that you place your pet inside an air-conditioned (or heated, depending on the weather) dog house that you can rent by the minute with their app. Each minute is only 30 cents with the maximum limit of 90 minutes. The coolest part is that with the app, you have access to the Puppy Cam so you can even watch your happy pet while you’re inside grabbing a snack. Once you’re ready to get back on the road, you just unlock the house with the app and go on your way!
“According to DogSpot’s website, all houses are vet approved and actually feature special UV lights that kill bacteria, viruses and mold between users. They’re also manually cleaned each day.”
