Schenectady Restaurant Owner to Appear on Food Network Next Week

Whenever I see anything from the Capital Region on TV, it makes me smile, especially when it’s Schenectady (obviously). Next week, one of our local restaurant owners will be featured on one of my favorite shows!

Aneesa Waheed, who along with her husband own Tara Kitchen, will be featured on the Food Network show “Guy’s Grocery Games,” according to the Times Union. The episode will air on August 29th at 9:00PM and will be called “Meals from the Middle Madness.” Food Network describes it as:

Guy Fieri tests the limits of four chefs by allowing them to shop only in the middle aisles of the store. That means no fresh produce, no fresh meat and no fresh dairy. First, Guy asks the chefs to make a breakfast without fresh eggs. Then, he asks for a hot lunch, but the chefs have to guess the price of a fresh protein in order to get it. Finally, the chefs have to make a family dinner incorporating ingredients from Guy’s imperfect produce section. Only one chef will rise from the middle and come out on top for a shopping spree worth up to $20,000. Host: Guy Fieri. Judges: Eddie Jackson, Antonia Lofaso, Aaron May.
