New Restaurant Replacing Latham’s Epicurean

After six years in business, the Epicurean Bistro & Wine Bar closed at its Latham location in 2016, leaving the space empty since then, until now.

A new restaurant called The Tavern is in development with a soft opening scheduled in a couple of weeks, according to the Times Union. You may have heard rumors of a restaurant going in that spot called Cork n Cow but there were difficulties with investors for over two years. Now, Josh Kiernan, also known from Black & Blue Steak and Crab as well as Prime at Saratoga National, is the sole owner of the new restaurant.

The menu is being described as pub food but with quality steaks offered. They’re also promoting their bar which has delicious wine choices as respectable prices, as well as more than 100 whiskeys/brown spirits, and a tap of 12 craft beers. As far as we know, a grand opening is scheduled for the end of July, they’re just waiting on some final permits and solidifying their staff.
