Lake George to Be Featured on National Beer Cans [PHOTO]
Whenever I want a beer, I try my best to drink something local or at the very least New York State and though it’s not a smaller craft brew, the company is out of Buffalo and they’re doing something to help the Capital Region.
You may have seen a familiar sight on some of the newer Labatt Blue and Blue Light cans at the store. Instead of their regular labels, they are featuring some of New Yorks most beautiful places and Lake George is one of them (along with Grain silos in Buffalo, Seneca Lake, and the Thousand Islands Bridge). The can series is called “Loving New York,” according to New York Upstate, and will be sold in all locations that sell 18-packs.
What’s great is that the money from these cans will indirectly be benefitting the Capital Region. Labatt is partnering up with Riverkeeper, “a non-profit environmental group dedicated to protecting the Hudson River and its tributaries.” Labatt is making a donation of $10,000 to the Hudson as well as $100,000 to Waterkeeper which benefits the Great Lakes.
