You may have seen them around Schenectady and Troy but now you’ll be able to cycle your way drinking around Albany.
Discover Albany is partnering with Upstate Kayak Rentals to launch a self-serve service to rent kayaks (they also have a station in Mohawk Harbor, Schenectady). The way in works is that you book a kayak on their website and then use the app Noke to unlock it when you get to them. You’ll be able to rent them from the Corning Preserve Boat Launch. The cost is the same as it is in Schenectady, “$50.00 for 2 kayaks for 1 1/2 hours (plus an additional 15 minutes to clean and lock up the equipment). Cost includes life jackets and paddles.”
Also new to Downtown Albany is Capital City Cycle Tour with a 14-rider “brewcycle” tour of downtown including stops at local breweries. This company is the same that hosts the Collar City Tours and Schenectady tours out of Wolf’s Biergarten as well as the Tiki Tours on Lake George. For $25, you reserve yourself a seat through their website to go on a two-hour tour. They recommend to have extra cash to make each stop in each bar go by faster since each bar stop is only about a half an hour long. If you’re looking into one of their tours all over the Capital Region:
