If you were looking to go to this popular Troy pub this weekend, you’d be surprised to see that not only has it closed but there are already plans for what you can expect to see in there next.

O’Brien’s Public House, on the third floor of the Trojan Hotel in downtown Troy, has closed as of last night, according to The Alt. They didn’t give an exact reason for closing but did speak of the hope to open somewhere else down the road. The Alt reports that they “emphasized that the venture wasn’t a failure” and they will soon announce what’s next for the business.

The building where they were located was sold last year but the new developers were on record saying that though they had plans for the building were not planning on asking O’Brien’s to leave. The last plans on record were to convert the “empty, uninhabited decaying former hotel” into something newer and more modern including a new roof deck, new elevator, and handicap access. No word on any upcoming dates of importance to either business but hopefully this means we’ll see O’Brien’s open somewhere else in Troy and we can be excited for new beginnings to two Troy locations.
