EDIT: Lake Local is closed and reopened as a new restaurant in 2020.
The up and coming hot spot of last spring/summer will be closed this season.
At the end of April, five days after Lake Local opened for the season, a fire broke out about an hour after they closed for the night. News10 reported that flames were coming out from the back of the building and quickly spread to the attic. There is an ongoing investigation but police say they’re pretty sure that it’s an electrical fire that started on the outside of the building near an outlet. Owners previously went on record saying that they were hoping to use their food truck and re-open the outside area but that doesn’t look like the case anymore.
News10 went on to update their original story by saying that Lake Local will be closed for the rest of the season. Luckily, no one was injured, but the fire ended up causing more damage than they originally thought.
