51 Names Added to Police Officers’ Memorial in Albany
In Downtown Albany, there is a beautiful memorial to remember the men and women in blue who made the ultimate sacrifice. 51 names have just been added.
The state Department of Criminal Justice just added 51 names to the already 1453 officers already inscribed on the memorial, found in the Empire State Plaza. The Times Union described the brave officers who put their lives on the line to protect us.
The 51 officers included 48 men and 3 women, 6 of which died in the line-of-duty. About 400 law enforcement members from across the state along with members of the families of the fallen officers were in attendance for the annual Police Officers’ Memorial Remembrance.
