I’m from Schenectady and seeing the development downtown has been incredible, especially Mohawk Harbor. From the structural developments, the upcoming amphitheater, and now a new kayak rental service, it’s going to be the must-be place to be.

Upstate Kayak Rentals has announced that they will begin hourly kayak rentals on Memorial Day weekend in Mohawk Harbor.  Albany Business Review said that Upstate Kayak Rentals already operates two hourly kayak rental locations and five self-serving rental hubs in the Albany area. The Mohawk Harbor service will go into the fall and will offer 20 kayaks for rental.

According to their website:

Hourly kayak rentals available at the Mohawk Harbor Kayak Launch Tuesday – Friday (11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.) and Saturday and Sundays (10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.) Memorial Day weekend past Labor Day (weather permitting).   Cost: $20.00 1 hour / $30.00 2 hours.

You can rent via their rental hubs through their website. All you have to do is select a location, reserve, and pay online, then pick up your kayak. “$50.00 for 2 kayaks for 1 1/2 hours (plus an additional 15 minutes to clean and lock up the equipment).  Cost includes life jackets and paddles.”
