Go Llama Hiking in Ballston Spa!

Once the weather gets nicer, all we want to do is spend as much time outside as possible. I don’t know about you but this is 100% on the top of my list of things I want to do this spring.

I have a strange fascination with llamas and I love to hike so I was so excited to see that there’s a place in Ballston Spa that puts both of those things together! Dakota Ridge Farms is offering “Treks with Llamas Tours” and I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am for this. The farm is home to about 50 llamas, sitting on about 40-acres of land. You can visit the farm and take a Working Farm tour where you learn about the llamas, how they’re cared for, and you could pet and brush one yourself. Only In Your State even mentioned Llama Sheering in May where you can take home a bag of their wool (which is the softest thing ever).

In the spring and fall, they offer the “Treks with Llamas” tours where visitors will lead a llama through the woods during a one-hour long tour. You can even stop along the way for a snack and take a break. Tours are offered during the day between 11:00am and 5:00pm when the weather is best. Adults are $25 and children 15 and younger are $15 and you can reserve a spot through info@dakotaridgefarm.com.
