Bring in 2018 with Laughter at MopCo!
New Year celebrations, they sneak up on you. You focus all of your attention on Christmas and then boom you’re stuck home on New Year’s Eve watching the ball drop by yourself. 2017 has been a crummy year, what’s a better way to bring it in than with laughs?
MopCo is a brilliant improv theatre in Downtown Schenectady who is offering two kinds of parties for New Year’s Eve this year. If you have children, want to celebrate, but don’t know where to go, MopCo has a plan. Starting at 7:00PM is a Family New Year’s Celebration with an improv show and early “ball drop” at 8:00PM. After, starting at 9:00PM is the New Year’s Eve PaJAMa party for grown-ups.
MopCo Director Michael Burns explained the reason for the two celebrations:“I remember having little kids—New Year’s was not really a night when you could easily get a sitter, and sometimes, we were just as tired by 10 as the little guys. So, we cooked up an event to allow families to get out and celebrate together.” Details on the MopCo PaJAMa Party are on their website MopCo.org.
A jam means it’s super casual: board games, karaoke, improv (a chance for you to watch or even perform yourself). Price of admission includes one adult beverage, snacks, and champagne for the midnight toast. Free soft drinks for your designated driver!
