One of my favorite local breweries, Shmaltz will be expanding to a new location in Troy in addition to their already established location in Clifton Park.
/edit Shmaltz is now 518 Craft and has closed their Clifton Park location.
This new location will be a tasting room and bottle shop like their current location and you’ll be able to find it in Monument Square in Downtown Troy. You may know the space, that used to be a Subway, may be open once or twice during the holiday season as a pop-up, according to the Times Union, but they’re not looking to open full-time until at least January.
They haven’t announced the name of this new building but knowing Shmaltz and how they name their beer, we won’t be disappointed. The Troy tasting room will also feature other beers, wines, and ciders made in New York. They will also be utilizing the amazing Troy Farmer’s Market by offering Lower East Side-type street food to allude to the obvious Jewish heritage they pride themselves on.
