Troy Has New Summer Plans for Children
Summer vacation is upon us and I’m sure you’re looking for ideas for your children to get them away from their screens. Troy swimming pools aren’t opening this year but that’s not stopping Troy from having great things for your children to do.
Between the Capital District YMCA and the Troy and Lansingburgh Boys and Girls clubs, there will be activities for children in light of the pool closings. According to WTEN, Troy swimming pools were closed this year due to budget constraints to get the pools to code. It would take at least $2.4 million to get the pools to code that they just don’t have this year.
Instead, between July 10th and August 18th in Knickerbacker Park, Prospect Park, and 112th Street Park, programs will offer breakfast and lunch to children enrolled and some will also offer swimming lessons. Participation is first-come, first-served.
