“I’m not telling you, ‘Never eat a hamburger.’ Just eat the good ones with real beef, you know, like the ones from that mom-and-pop diner down the street, … And it’s so good that when you take a bite out of that burger, you just know somewhere in the world a vegan is crying.”
EDIT: A second location opened in Downtown Albany but is now closed. Original location still open.
I’ve heard the name Wolf’s 1-11 thrown around a lot but didn’t know exactly what it was until I went there recently and I can’t believe it’s not packed every single night because of how much fun it is. I went recently to watch the Jets vs. Steelers game and not only was I able to eat my dinner while sitting on a very comfortable couch but I got to watch the game on a huge, clear, projector screen. During halftime, there’s an arcade that has similar games to Dave and Buster’s in NYC. You have a choice of air hockey, a trivia game, basketball, as well as a really cool shooting game where you get to sit in an enclosed jeep-like space and protect yourself from huge predators by shooting them. Each game gives tickets where you can add together in the end to get prizes. Cards to put money on are available at the ticket booth but a few games require tokens that have separate machines.
There are two bars in the restaurant, the main bar in front and a small bar in back for a couple of select popular beers. As for the restaurant, the food was great but the service was rough. Maybe because we went on a game night and it was packed that the wait staff was confused but I ended up having to go to the bar and get a beer myself because no one would wait on me.
I decided on a burger and when I eventually got it, it was very good. It was cooked the way I asked and it came in a timely fashion. I don’t have anything bad to say about it but I don’t ave anything fantastic to say about it either. It was a decent burger, nothing more and nothing less. The house burger was only $8.00 which is a pretty good price for a decent burger. My boyfriend’s Mom ordered sweet potato fries and to my surprise it came with marshmallow sauce. You may think that sounds awful but order it and give it a try because I don’t know why, it doesn’t make logical sense but it tastes great, give it a chance.
Overall,Wolf’s 1-11 was a lot of fun. TVs, arcade and food- it’s a great place for any age to hang out and have a good meal, check it out if you haven’t but bring extra money, that arcade will be calling you!
