“Think what a better world it would be if we all, the whole world, had cookies and milk about three o’clock every afternoon and then lay down on our blankets for a nap.”

Barbara Jordan

I love desserts. What I love more is that we have so many delicious dessert locations in this area. Your sweet craving can be fixed within a 10mile radius of your house, it’s awesome. Most recently I went to Sweet Temptations. This sweet treat location is probably the closest to my house and ironically, it’s one of the last ones I’ve had the opportunity to try- Sweet Temptations.

I was going to try the cupcake, write a blog entry about whether it was comparable or better than the other locations I’ve tried until I saw this cookie/peanut butter concoction and OMG (read as, Oh Em Gee). By the time I took a picture of it, I had already devoured quite a bit of it because I don’t have much self-control when it comes to that much deliciousness. It was a sugar cookie base, drizzled with chocolate, covered in Reese’s peanut butter cups and another small layer of peanut butter drizzle for $3.00; I saw it and fell in love.

At first I was nervous that the sugar cookie with all that sugar would be too much but it wasn’t, the cookie was honestly just an edible plate to make it easier to eat the pile of deliciousness in the middle and to hold more chocolate. Next time (or the first time) you go to Sweet Temptations, see what other desserts they have instead of just cupcakes- try something new. If you see this there, TRY THIS! I highly recommend it, you won’t be disappointed. You can also order cupcakes, birthday cakes, wedding cakes as well as pick up some candy. Make sure you become a fan of theirs on Facebook because that’s where you can find out about weekly deals and contests & see pictures of some of their recent creations. Sweet Temptations has a location in Albany (469 Albany Shaker Road), Schenectady (432 State Street) and is opening a new location in Lake George (3609 Lake Shore Drive).

With the Summer season fast approaching, my visits to Lake George are becoming more frequent. Tuesday’s Tables today is going to be about The Boathouse (3210 Lake Shore Drive, Lake George). This wasn’t my first time going to The Boathouse. Since it has lake access, this is one of the few restaurants that first come to mind when we’re on the boat so I’m familiar with the menu. Before writing this blog, I found myself getting the same foods from some of my favorite restaurants because that’s the meal I equate the restaurant with and at The Boathouse it’s the burgers. This time, I decided to change it up a bit and stick with seafood. I ordered a cup of the Seafood Bisque ($6) and Crab Cakes with dill remoulade ($10).

Though I did look at the burgers on the menu yearning for the juicy flavor, I decided to try something new and hope it went as well. The brought over fresh, warm bread that was delicious. I had to keep my crab cakes in mind in order to not eat the whole basket. We happened to come during Happy Hour where they offer buy one, get one glasses of wine and buy one, get one mixed drink or one double for the price of a single. I told the bartender I wanted something fruity and he did not disappoint. I’m still not really sure what he made but it was pretty and delicious.

Finally lunch came. Now, I don’t mean finally as in that it took awhile because it didn’t, it was very timely. I meant finally as in that I was very excited to try something new and I couldn’t wait! I started with the seafood bisque. There are a lot of bisques I’ve tried that end up tasting more like cream than seafood and this was not the case. As you can see in the picture, the bisque is chunky and full of crab and other bits of seafood. I honestly really enjoyed it and it went well with the crab cake. The crab cake was flaky and delicious. Dill isn’t one of my favorite herbs so I was hesitant to have the dill remoulade but it wasn’t overpowering and I eventually didn’t even think that it was dill. My only problem with the crab cakes was the amount of green dressing on my plate. I understand the purpose for it is to decorate the plate but it didn’t have any flavor and just ended up getting in my way.

Overall, I really enjoy The Boathouse. If you’re coming from the street, expect to walk down a pretty steep hill/flight of stairs but if I remember correctly, they offer golf carts for help if it’s too much of a problem. If you’re going to eat on Lake George, other than great food I assume you’re looking to enjoy a great view as well and The Boathouse has it. It’s a really great place and if you’re not into trying the seafood meal I had that day, I recommend the burgers!

“Advice is like snow – the softer it falls, the longer it dwells upon, and the deeper in sinks into the mind. “

Each Monday and Friday, I write about events going on in the Capital District. With all my research I not only find new restaurants or other sights to try but I find completely different locations, whole towns I’ve never been to before which in this case was North Creek. I had written a blog entry about my Aunt’s jewelry that she sells in a store in North Creek and I see events happening on Gore Mountain but I’ve never actually been there, until two weekends ago.

I had heard that the Gore Snow Train was going to start up again and this was the first I was ever hearing of it. I just assumed it was a train that was going to take me and hour from my house and I at first glance didn’t see the point in that. The more research I did, the more I wanted to take part and then the opportunity presented itself as it always does: a LivingSocial deal.

I recently picked up the winter 2012 issue of EcoLocal and they had an article on not only the Snow Train but on Garnet Hill Lodge which is not very far from the North Creek train station. In 1934, the Schenectady Winter Sports Club chose North Creek as its prime ski destination to service its members and it arrived at the North Creek train station on March 4 bringing 375 skiers and the round trip fare was $1.50. After the popularity rose, the club made arrangements to begin overnight travel from Grand Central for the general public and there would be models on board showing off the winter collections from Saks Sporting Goods. Once the train arrived, local men with buses and trucks would take the skiers to the mountain for 25 cents to witness one of the earliest rope tow systems in the East. The Snow Train grew in popularity for 9 winters though had to cancel for weather conditions and then when the war began, the trains stopped. They started back up again in the late 1940s but once the general public had their own private automobiles it had little success. In 1974, the North Creek residents established a celebratory ride called “Snow Trains Unlimited” but because of lack of snow, it was cancelled. This year, the snow train is open and will offer retro-fitted school buses to take skiers to and from the mountain.

I was so excited to get the LivingSocial deal which was $15 round trip tickets on the Snow Train. The voucher had instructions to call a number and make reservations ahead of time and to make sure to tell them my voucher number. The two options for tickets were Coach and Dome but my vouchers were for the coach seats. The main difference between the two cars is that the dome ceiling is open and you’re able to see above and all around you while on the second level of a double-decker train car. When I made the reservations, they told us to show up between 6:15am-6:30am even though everyone else seemed to have showed up later since the train didn’t leave until 7:00am SHARP but I liked being able to be there and relax for a little bit beforehand. We went to the ticket window and told her my name and voucher numbers and she handed us (my boyfriend and I) the coolest looking tickets I’ve ever seen. Amtrak doesn’t give out tickets like this; it was the moment we were brought back to the times of old-fashioned train cars.

The whole ride there was pretty much a blur since we slept the whole 2 hours and some change so we didn’t have a chance to eat breakfast. It worked out that we didn’t have a chance to eat breakfast because we’re not skiers so we didn’t expect to go see Gore Mountain until later in the day. In case you did want to eat breakfast on the train, they offer two eggs with potatoes ($7), an Adirondack omelet ($8), steak and eggs ($10) and other things a la carte like oatmeal ($5), corned beef hash ($9) and a fruit bowl ($5).  Nothing in the town was open yet when we arrived around 9:30am except Marsha’s Family Restaurant which was diner-style so we spent the time eating breakfast and pancakes was exactly what I needed to wake up for a long day. The main part of town is down one street and it’s really cute. There are quite a few choice stores to check out like the Hudson River Trading Co which has Adirondack gifts and home décor, Poiema and the Vault with handmade and one of a kind items for home and personal care, Café Sarah which is a small bakery with cakes and cookies and Seven Sisters that has tons of great jewelry and other interesting things.

I was surprised to see that they didn’t have anywhere to go ice skating but at least there was tubing. We had to hop on one of the free Gore Mountain shuttles and told her we wanted to go to the tubing which was at the North Creek Ski Bowl. The ski bowl opens at 11AM and we got there just a little before it opened to give ourselves time to buy tickets, put on boots and snow pants, etc. For 2 hours of tubing fun, the cost is $17 & they had 800’ in chutes for guests 36” and taller & lighting for evening activity. There wasn’t that big of a crowd so we were able to continue to go up and down the mountain without waiting in any lines. It was a lot of fun and at first I didn’t think 2 hours would be enough but it was perfect, especially since we didn’t wait in any lines. After we were done at the mountain, we waited a little while for the shuttle and headed up to Gore Mountain. Be aware that the shuttle goes on a lunch break so plan your two hours of tubing accordingly because neither the town nor Gore Mountain is in walking distance from the Ski Bowl.

It was a beautiful day out so the mountain was crowded. It had been awhile since we ate so we figured it was good to eat again, we had to be back to the train station before 4:00p to make sure we catch the train. All the food there was your regular fast food such as burgers, french fries, chicken fingers, etc. In the back of the food court area was a restaurant/bar called Tannery Pub and instead of booths, you got to sit in old gondolas from the mountain which we surprisingly comfortable.

For lunch we had chicken fingers and french fries and I ordered a Peppermint Patty ($7) which was hot chocolate and peppermint schnapps and definitely hit the spot. The food wasn’t too bad but it was chicken fingers and french fries which in my opinion are pretty hard to mess up. After that, we decided to head back into town so we grabbed the shuttle and walked around town before heading back to the train station. We got there a little early and the small museum was closed so we looked through the shop and sat down inside until it was time to get on the train. Once we boarded, we both took a little nap but woke up just in time for dinner and I really wanted to experience the dining car. The only downside was that their chef was sick and had to call in a back-up so some of the food they weren’t able to prepare and since we got there late, some of the main dinner options they had run out of. On the menu for the main plates is Stuffed Pork Loin ($15), 10oz NY Strip Steak ($16), 8oz Ahi Tuna Fillet ($13) and Chicken Cordon Blue ($12). As for sandwiches there is a Philly Cheesesteak ($10), Club Sandwich ($10), Grilled Breast of Chicken ($10), Grilled Cheeseburger ($9) and Peanut Butter and Jelly ($5). I ended up ordering the Grilled Chicken Sandwich which came with a side so I decided on the Italian Wedding soup. It was all delicious.

They served the food in the style of the old train cars. They gave us the check and we wrote on it what we wanted to order. For the fact that we were inside of a train, it was pretty cozy and  really sweet. I ate my soup and then took most of my sandwich home and ate it later. Overall the train ride was really pleasant. The whole staff was really accommodating, especially the conductor who talked to us about our trip and was ready to answer any questions about the area.

The snow train this year is done on March 31 so if you did’t get your tickets this year, don’t worry there’s (thankfully) always next year. Even if you don’t ski, it’s a pretty nice day trip and the train itself adds on to the experience. We arrived in North Creek at 9:20PM and arrived back in Saratoga around 7:00PM so it was a pretty substantial day. If you ski you can take a bus  right from the station to Gore Mountain, if you cross country ski,  you can make arrangements with Garnet Hill to take a trip there and if you do neither, there’s always tubing like we did! There are also deals on a lift ticket + train ticket so check out the website for more details.

I’ve written plenty of blog entries on Japanese food because I love it but each Japanese food place is different and specialize in different types of food. Recently, I went to Sushi Yoshi (1818 State Route 9, Lake George) and was surprised to find out that this was actually a Chinese/Japanese restaurant, two food types that I usually think as something completely different from one another. If you’ve never experienced hibachi, this is something you need to try – though expensive, trust me. I went to celebrate my cousin’s birthday and ordered two different types of meat to be cooked: steak and salmon. Each hibachi special is served with a carbohydrate (either rice or noodles), vegetables, two hibachi shrimp, miso soup and salad with fresh ginger dressing.

The best part of hibachi and the reason it’s something to experience is the show. Hibachi is a serious art form. From balancing eggs to chopping up meat and vegetables faster than my eyes can track, it seems all put together with the showmanship of the cook. This isn’t just watching someone cook and then you eat and the night is over, they’re engaging and the food is still cooked perfectly.

Want to have more fun? Order yourself, and hopefully share, a Scorpion bowl that Sushi Yoshi has at half-price on Tuesdays. Scorpion bowls are usually fruit juice, brandy and rum and when you receive the bowl, it’s on fire, don’t be alarmed. The middle section they light on fire is pure alcohol and you can drink it but I recommend having water or something to drink right after to balance out the taste because it can be pretty strong.

I always end up leaving hibachi satisfied and there is no need for anything after, except maybe a walk to digest the food.  If it’s your first hibachi, let them know! You may even get a squirt of sake in your mouth or have to catch a vegetable without your hands!

*NOTE: Hibachis are a great idea for a birthday party in case you’re looking for an idea, with enough people, you can fill the whole table but if not you can make friends with the other people sitting with you!

Since it’s summer time, a time for beautiful weather (hopefully) and vacations I felt it was time to touch on a few places in the go-to location in the 518, Lake George. Luckily for me, I’ve had family or friends who have had a place on the lake for almost my whole life. Also, I don’t know what I would have done if I wasn’t able to come home to Lake George and race up and down the lake after spending each semester in the controlled chaos that is NYC. One of my family and my favorite places to eat on the lake is The Algonquin (4992 Lake Shore Drive, Bolton Landing).

Each time we go I try to have something different, the one thing that stays the same – New England Clam Chowder. What I love about this soup is that not only are there big chunks of clams but the texture is just right. I love clam chowder and had many different textures from oily to rough to a chunky base but The Algonquin does it right! This was the first time I had the Sangria- mostly because it’s the first time I noticed it. The Algonquin Sangria has St Germain Elderflower liquor with red wine and seasonal fruit but you wouldn’t be able to tell that there were too types of alcohol in it. It was a tad on the sweet side but not anything that would distract from it’s great flavor.

For lunch this day, I ate the Hummus Sandwich ($10.50) with Roasted Red Pepper hummus, fresh mozzarella & baby greens on a roasted ciabatta roll. I liked it. The hummus had a really strong flavor and the baby greens were nice and crispy and fresh, my only problem was that the mozzarella didn’t seem to add much to the flavor of the sandwich though it did change up the texture a bit with each bite. As for value, I wasn’t really impressed. As you can see in the picture, the sandwich was pretty small and mostly baby greens so I thought for that, the $10.50 was pretty steep. Usually their prices equal the value of the sandwich but in this case I didn’t think it did. One could argue that the mozzarella would make the sandwich pricey but for the lackluster flavor if that’s the case, I recommend they spend their money on better mozzarella. This was the first time I ordered the sandwich and even though I don’t seem pleased with this meal in particular, please don’t let that make you shy away from this restaurant. In my opinion, this particular order was nothing more and an anomaly. I’ve been going to this restaurant since I was a kid and this is the first time I didn’t feel satisfied. Some good food, eating on the patio on a beautiful day and the gorgeous view is the perfect way to spend a great Lake Georgian day!

GIGGLE MOMENT

A giggle moment at a Stewarts in Lake George- taking the law into one’s own hands, not so much but hopefully seeing that sign while on your cell phone, either talking or texting, while driving will get some to think again about the dangers. It’s all about bluetooth now anyway, isn’t it? :-)

I’ve been to El Mexicano (3011 State Route 4 Hudson Falls, NY 12839)  quite a few times recently and since it’s all the way in the Lake George/Glens Falls area, you know it has to be good. I’m not a huge fan of Mexican food mostly because of how my stomach tends to feel after the fact but I can’t help but eat from this restaurant. Not only is the food fantastic but the atmosphere is as well. With the beautiful wall decorations as well as the music and general happy atmosphere it’s almost as if you take a step out of your world and enter a giant party!

Everyone gets chips and salsa to share, of course, while you’re deciding on drinks. I ordered a Sangria which was a tad strong but still really tasty. Before dinner I ordered a meatball soup which sounded good and I’d never had it before and I really liked it. I like meatballs and I really like avocado so I decided to order it and I was happy with my choice. It had a bite but not so much of a spice so if you’re not into spicy food, you’re safe with soup.

I ordered the chorizo and cheese but what I didn’t realize was that it was actually cheese with small bits of chorizo for dunking chips. So if that’s what you’re looking for, order that because it tasted great but I was hoping for more for dinner. My family members ordered the combination specials which is probably the best deal. Everything looks really messy but it all taste great. The messier it is, the better it tastes, right?

No matter what type of Mexican food you like, they have it. Out of all the Mexican restaurants I’ve tried in the area, this is definitely the most authentic tasting (and the best tasting). If you want to try a bit of everything, try one of their combos!

After the meal, each person at the table is given an apple crepe like dessert and don’t leave before you have a shot of the tequila! *TIP: Ask about the vanilla version if tequila isn’t your thing!

The last time we went, it was their anniversary so we got to experience a mariachi band as well as people (after drinking a bit too much, I assume) dancing around the restaurant and getting free t-shirts! You never know what to expect when you visit but what you do know is that you’re going to go home with your stomach full with a good meal!

“Love, like a chicken salad a restaurant has, must be taken with blind faith or it loses its flavor”

Recently, I went to the Log Jam (Rt 9 & Rt 149, Lake George) with my family for some dinner. The menu isn’t too large but because everything sounds so good, I find it overwhelming. For the past two times I went, which happened to be two nights in a row, I took the option of ordering an appetizer with the salad bar for an extra $7.00 and I’ve found that to be the best option for the amount of food I can eat. The first time I went, I had the crab cakes with a side of butternut squash with brown sugar on top. The crab cakes were very good, cooked perfectly and tasted great. The dill sauce on the side complimented the cakes very well and I don’t tend to like the flavor dill. The second time I went, I ordered the ribs. I had a BBQ craving, more so a rib craving and that satisfied it. The ribs didn’t tend to have a lot of meat on them but it was an appetizer so that makes sense. I found mid-way through the ribs that paired with the salad bar, though the ribs didn’t have a lot of meat, I could only eat half of them so it worked out well for me. They were very good and I love their BBQ sauce!

My favorite part of any restaurant, the salad bar, was very good at the Log Jam as well. They had regular lettuce along with lettuce with Caesar dressing.

Sorry for the blur, low restaurant lighting

There are the regular salad fixings including carrots, cheese blocks, onions, shredded cheese, tomatoes, broccoli, etc. There’s also apples in come sort of cream and fantastic pasta salad with tuna. I don’t know what it is about salad bars, either it’s because they’re so convenient or the vegetables are different but each salad I make from each salad bar is different but in the end, they almost always taste fantastic. Don’t forget to cut yourself a piece of bread from the about 5-6 types of bread available.

If you find yourself in the area, this is a great restaurant with that Adirondack feel and you could order anything off the menu, it all looks and smells great and there’s not many restaurants you can say that for.

“Writers really live in the mind and in hotels of the soul.”

For my Uncle’s birthday this year, my Mom, Aunt, Uncle and I stayed a few nights at the Six Flags Great Escape Lodge and Indoor Waterpark in Lake George, NY. Even though we only live about an hour away and my Aunt and Uncle live even closer, about 10 mins away, it was a great stay and it made my Uncle happy which made me happy.

The lobby was Adirondack themed with wood panels, couches with Adirondack prints and pictures of bears and etc all around. Since our stay was the end of October, one of the stores was closed, the coffee place in the lobby was closed and the restaurant opened on Friday and our stay was Tuesday-Thursday. We went to our rooms, also Adirondack themed and it was really big. There were two beds with a couch and table with a dividing wall between the two sections. The beds were some type of memory foam that equaled to me sleeping about 12 hours each night, either because I was so comfortable or exhausted from the work week. I don’t know which it was but I think I can safely assume a lot of it had to do with the bed. My only recommendation is to bring your own pillow, each bed is given two pillows but they’re really puffy, almost to the point where they were really uncomfortable.

The first night, my Mom and I went to the fitness room in the hotel on the third floor. The hotel is only 4 floors high so no matter where you’re staying, you’re close. It had 3 treadmills, 2 recumbent bikes, weights of various sizes, a few mats and a small decline bench but the decline nor height of the bench can’t be adjusted at all. They also have a water cooler and towels for your use as well as a large flat screen TV. Though small, no one else was in there so my mother and I were able to work out in private.

Also available in the hotel was a spa called Serenity at the Lodge. My Aunt, Uncle and I each had massages and my mother got a facial. We got the “Escape” massage which they describe on their website as a “full body massage using long strokes with a combination of kneading techniques. This treatment helps soothe and relax tired muscles and enhances circulation” for 25mins. I added in the moist heat pack treatment, “Excellent therapy for treating muscular tension and spasms.  The moist heat dilates blood vessels and increases blood flow to treated areas” since I was having leg trouble. While he was working on my back, the moist heat pack was on my legs and when he began to work on my legs, he moved the moist heat pack to my back. My massage therapist was very knowledgeable in the body. Before the treatment, you must fill out a small questionnaire about body troubles, etc and since I wrote down that my leg was bothering me he gave me some stretches to do to help alleviate the pain.

Next, the most well-known part of the hotel, we went to White Water Bay, the water park. Passes to the park are free with a room at the hotel, or you can purchase tickets online. A half day AM pass & half day PM pass are both $27.00 each, plus tax and a full day pass is $37.00, plus tax. The water park closes from 1PM-2PM each day so the AM, I assume is before that and the PM is for after that. On top of everything is a kid’s park like a mini Splashwater Kingdom, with the bucket to dump water as well but that’s separate from everything else. Though it’s made for kids, don’t hide the kid in you. There is no age restriction and that’s where you can find the smaller slides to use if the big ones make you nervous. There is also a lazy river where you can grab a tube and just ride the waves, with a few splashes along the way with no limit so if you liked it the first time, just keep riding through. Also under the kid’s playground up top is a jacuzzi which is rather large. There is a section with bubbles and a section without bubbles depending on which you prefer. My favorite part of the water park was the river rapids slide. This ride holds up to 4 people and you walk up a bunch of stairs to the top to get onto this river rapids boat and go down this slide completely in the dark. It lasts about a minute and there’s no splashing or worry that you’re going to fall out of the boat, it’s a lot of fun, even if you don’t normally like those types of slides. For the younger kids is a toddler section with a small swing and small slide and next to that is a surfing and boogie board ride. The water pushes at you and you boogie board or surf in one place, it was pretty cool looking but I didn’t get to try it.

Down by White Water Bay is a small food place where you can buy pizza, hot dogs, nachos, etc that kind of food or you can take a small walk down the hallway to Johnny Rockets which is attached to the hotel. We went to Johnny Rockets for breakfast every morning because it’s cheap, good, and very convenient. Also attached is Johnny Rockets’ sports bar which we didn’t have a chance to take advantage of but it was really nice looking.

Even if you live in driving distance to this hotel, it was fun to take a break for a few days and pretend we were on vacation. Not just for this hotel but if you’re looking to shake things up, stay in a nice hotel by your house. You’ll be able to feel like you’re on vacation without having to spend all that money nor does it involve all the travel stress or heavy packing. I at least recommend the water park. The weather is getting colder and during the week the park isn’t busy at all, we had most of it to ourselves. Though I don’t know what it’s like on the weekend but I can’t imagine it’s as busy as the summer crowd.

Inside of Aimie's

While I’m watching a movie, I find myself looking for something to snack on. I have it in my brain that I need to eat while I’m at the movies. Usually it’s popcorn or candy or something else awful for my waistline but luckily, that’s not the case at Aimie’s Dinner and Movie (190-194 Glen St, Glens Falls). At Aimie’s, you order your food before the movie starts, while you can still see the menu and they serve you the food shortly after the movie starts.

There is a $5.50 per person charge for the movie before any dinner is ordered ($4.50 for seniors and children) and you must eat/drink  at least $7.50 per person and an 18% gratuity is added to parties of 6 or more. I recommend either calling and making a reservation or showing up at least a half hour early and put your name in for a table, there isn’t that many in the theater so they fill up fast. Reservation information can be found on their website.

I went with my family and we saw the movie The Other Guys with Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg. It was my second time seeing that movie but it was still funny the second time, maybe even funnier! I found these booths to be more comfortable than a regular movie seat, probably because they assume you need to be more comfortable to eat than if you were just watching the movie. They have smaller tables for a couple and bigger tables for bigger parties so they will accommodate.

Each of the entrees have a movie themed name such as “St. Elmo’s Fire Fra Diavlo” and “Sonny Corleone’s Scampi.” To start, my uncle ordered “Pedro’s Poppers” that he kindly let me taste. Their website describes them as “Delicious cheese filled jalapeno peppers, coated with breading and cooked golden brown. Served you way with a side of Salsa or Ranch. Vote For Pedro!” Sometimes these poppers tend to be too much cheese, not even pepper but that wasn’t the case with Pedro’s. I could taste both the cheese and the pepper and it was delicious. These are dangerous, though, one bite leaves you wanting more!

For an entrée, I ordered chicken flavored with lemon and spices with hollandaise sauce that I asked for on the side (I didn’t see the description listed on their menu online). I only put a little bit of sauce on the chicken since it was flavorful without it. The moistness was good, a little dry but it’s usually prepared with the sauce on it so that was to be expected and the seasoning was very good. The French fries weren’t anything special, just fries that I doused in ketchup.

The waitresses weren’t distracting from the movie at all if that was a worry of yours. The food is brought out early into the movie so you can eat it at your own pace and sit and enjoy the movie. There are many places in that area to go after the movie is over. My family and I went to The Chocolate Mill ( 164 Glen St) and picked up some rather affordable treats. I had a mini s’more which was a toasted marshmallow, chocolate and a piece of graham cracker on a lolly-pop stick, there is also a non-toasted option. My Mom and I each got one and ate them the next day and they lasted, they still tasted awesome. We spent some time in there staring at all of the cakes and cookies. The cookies, I had some of the oatmeal raisin, are a perfect size and taste fantastic. That is an easy area to spend a night for a date with a significant other, a potential significant other or just friends. Keep it in mind when you’re making plans!
