“Here’s looking at you, kid.”

Casablanca

The middle of September, Proctors started what I think to be one of my favorite ideas and use of the GE Big Screen. Film 100: The American Film Institute Essentials is a program that will be showing some of the top movies each Monday, according to the AFI though July 2013. As they say on their website, Proctors was built for movies. Each movie is only $5 to see or if this is something that interests you as much as it did me, you can purchase the Film 100 pass for $100 and be able to see any movie you want throughout the whole season. The first movie I went to see was Guess Who’s Coming for Dinner (1967). I understand that a lot of these movies are on Netflix or online or even on TCM but it’s not the same feeling as going to the movies, walking through Proctors to get your popcorn, etc at the box office and seeing it on the big screen. If you see any movies on there that you wanna check out, I recommend it! See the list of movies coming up and pick one, let me know which you’ll be at!

  1. Glad to see another fan of the Film 100 series! I’ve been to a few so far and it’s fun to see the films in such a beautiful theater (plus a large popcorn is only $3!). I never would have sat down to watch the Clint Eastwood movie (Unforgiven) on Netflix, but not only did I sit down to watch it at Proctors, but I liked a Western! Who knew.
